Sayeed Quadri is an Indian lyricist and poet. He is known for his work in Bollywood films. He has written many super hit songs like ‘Bheege Honth Tere’, ‘Maula Mere Maula’, ‘In Dino’, ‘Haale-E-Dil’ and ‘Phir Le Aaya Dil’. In 2023, he appeared as a guest on the celebrity talk show ‘The Kapil Sharma Show’ which aired on Sony TV.

Sayeed Quadri was born on Monday, October 3, 1960 (age 62; as of 2022) in Jodhpur, Rajasthan. After completing his studies, he moved to Mumbai in 1986 to pursue his career as a lyricist in the Hindi film industry. However, he could not find a job for seven years, and then decided to return to his homeland. A decade later, he again moved to Mumbai and established himself in the Hindi film industry as a successful lyricist.

Sayeed Quadri made his debut as a lyricist in the Hindi film industry with the film Jism (2003), in which he penned three songs. In the same year, he wrote all the songs for the film ‘Saaya’. In 2004, he wrote 4 songs for the movie “Murder”, including the song “Bheege Honth Tere” and “Kaho Na Kaho” became superhits and stayed at the top of the music, radio and streaming charts for a long time.
In 2006, he wrote three songs “Tu Hi Meri Shab Hai”, “Ya Ali” and “Mujhe Mat Roko” for the movie “Gangster”. The song ‘Maula Mere Maula’ which he wrote for the film ‘Anwar’ (2007) was well received by the audience.
In 2011, he wrote three songs “Haale-E-Dil”, “Phir Mohobat” and “Tujhko Bhulana” for the movie “The Killing 2”. In 2020, he wrote the title song of the film “Khuda Hafiz”. He has composed songs for various films including ‘Paap’ (2003), ‘Kalyug’ (2005), ‘Life in a… Metro’ (2007), ‘Barfi!’ (2012), “Hamari Adhuri Kahani” (2015) and “Ludo” (2020).

In 2018, he penned the lyrics for the song “Shab Tum Ho” sung by Darshan Rawal. In 2019, he wrote the lyrics of the patriotic song “One India My India”.
He wrote the song ‘Tanhaai’ in 2020 which was sung by Tulsi Kumar. In 2021, he wrote the lyrics for the video song “Mehendi Wale Haath” featuring Guru Randhawa and Sanjana Sangh.
He has written lyrics for several other video songs such as “Illtejaa” (2018), “Rehguzar” (2019), “Humko Tum Mil Gaye” (2020), “Toh Aagaye Tum” (2021), “Aur Payar Karna Hai” (2021), “Is Qadar” and “2212” (2012).
