Apurva was born on 21 March 1978 (age 45; as of 2023) in Bangalore, Karnataka, India. She went to Baldwin High School and then Jai Hind College for her higher education, where she studied for a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology. Apurva was quite active in dramatic allocutions. He was also a part of Rotaract and many other clubs in his college. He has always dreamed of becoming a film director and storyteller. Afurwa had no family background in filmmaking or editing, but his parents loved watching movies. Therefore, Afurva took her passion from her parents for more movies. He is now settled in Goa. Apurva has won amazing laurels with her skills and prowess and continues to rule the film and editing industry.

Apurva Asrani was born in Bangalore to mixed race parents, father late Manohar Asrani and mother Menka Asrani. His father was a Bombay boy and a complete “film buff” and his mother a South Indian girl, a Bharatanatyam dancer in Bangalore.

Apurva’s parents met at a theater in Bangalore in 1975 at the first screening of Sholay. Therefore, parents’ intense love and interest in cinema and performing arts was born in Apurva. Afurwa Asrani’s father died on January 9, 2023.

Apurva Asrani was in a long-term relationship with her boyfriend Siddhant, but the former announced their split in 2021 on Instagram. The period of Covid-19 took its toll on Apurva as the virus took away several of her friends and her relationship of 14 years. Asrani wrote a post on Instagram:

Afurwa Asrani started her career in 1995 when she interned as an assistant on the popular music countdown show, Bpl Oye! Later, at the age of 19, he became a film editor for Ram Gopal Varma’s Satya (1998). The film was announced at the box office and received worldwide acclaim.
