Zayn Khan Duran is an Indian actor. He is known for his performance as Harfan Bukhari in the web series Mukhbir – A Spy Story. After Zaira Wasim, who played the lead role in the Bollywood film Dangal, Zayn Khan Durrani is the second actor from Kashmir to play the lead role in a Bollywood film.

Zain Khan Durrani made his OTT debut with the eight-episode web series Mukhbir – A Spy Story, which launched on 11 November 2022 on Zee 5. The web series is based on the novel Mission Kashmir: An Intelligence Agent in Pakistan written by Malloy Dhar. It was dubbed in three languages, Telugu, Tamil and Punjabi. In this web series, Duran played the character of an Indian secret agent who helped India win the Indo-Pakistani war in 1965. In an interview, while talking about his role in the film, Durrani said:
My character coming in is basically from old Delhi. Most of his upbringing happened in some way. He’s smart, he’s got a certain skill set. That’s why he was hired. Well, he was not psychologically prepared. He may be a fish out of water.’
The setting of the web series is Kashmir, where Duran belongs. In another interview, Durrani said that he could relate to his character in the film as he grew up in Kashmir and was well aware of the difficulties people face due to political instability and violence in the state.
I couldn’t have asked for a better project than Mukhbir to celebrate my OTT debut. I grew up in Kashmir and saw first-hand the challenges people faced during riots and wars, so the part of Mukhbir was even more emotional for me. As soon as I read the script, I knew I had to do it because the character is so inspiring. ”

After playing the character of RJ in ‘Kuchh Bheege Alfaaz’, Duran tried his hand at the profession in real life as well. He hosted the second season of Lamhe, a fiction themed drama show aired on 92.7 BIG FM. The show titled “With Lamhe Zain” started on April 16, 2018. Speaking about joining the radio station, he said in an interview:
Storytelling has always fascinated me and when I heard the concept of ‘Lamhe’ Season 2, it was an instant chapter on my end.” He also added, “I’ve already played RJ in my last film and I really enjoyed the experience. I’m looking forward to making this one memorable as well.”

Allegations of physical abuse
Indian actress and model Saloni Chopra has alleged that she was physically abused by Zayn Khan Durrani while she was dating him. He disclosed this in an Instagram post, but did not mention his name. Later, he heard about another girl who faced the same problem while dating Zayn Khan Duran. Saloni Chopra discussed the matter with Onir, who introduced Zayn to the film industry, but Onir did not believe him until he heard about another girl who had been molested by Zayn. Onir talked about it in an interview and said:
I met the first girl Zayn allegedly accused. Now there is another. Apparently, there are several women he violated. After 11 o’clock at night, he becomes a different person. Had I known about his history of abuse, I would never have mentored him or introduced him to the screen.”
