In 2020, Vikraman was appointed as the state spokesperson of the Liberation Tigers of India. On 26 February 2021, Vikraman was appointed as the spokesperson of the Vidhuthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi (VCK) party in Tamil Nadu, founded by Thol Thirumalavalan. Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Kachi (VCK) is an Indian political party that aims to eliminate caste-based discrimination.

In an interview, Vikraman recalled the incident that prompted him to enter politics after working as a journalist, saying:
During Covid, a woman contacted me on social media asking for help because her brother was unwell. He told me that his parents were quite old and lived abroad. He called it a desperate situation and asked if I could help him. As a journalist, I had a set of followers and tweeted about it. The ambulance was soon at his disposal and the Minister of State answered me. So I used that attention I got in a productive way. But a single man with an ideology won’t get you very far. You need more people around you who share the same thoughts and ideology as you to make things happen. I am a person who believes that the justice you get in the legislature is more important than in the courts. Even if you cannot do something, you must force those in power to do it. What matters is the end result.”

Accused Sumanth C. Raman of caste discrimination
Vikraman accused Sumanth C. Raman, a Tamil television anchor and sports commentator, of ill-treatment and discrimination against people based on caste in November 2020. Vikraman claimed that when he came home for the interview, he was refused a glass of water even after several requests. He wrote on Twitter and posted,
When I came to your house for an interview, you didn’t even give me a glass of water back. When I asked you myself, you offered me water from the watchman. Why is that ??”
Sumant called his accusations baseless and apologized and demanded to withdraw the statement. Vikraman responded with his tweet saying:
Even two cameramen were following me at that time. Do not threaten the journalist. Our truth will prevail. “

However, Sumanth denied Vikram’s allegation and threatened legal action against him, to which he responded by tweeting,

Accused of sexual harassment
In April 2021, Vikraman was reportedly accused of sexually harassing a man while auditioning for the film. The victim claimed that Vikraman was gay who had called her for an audition but instead abused her. Sharing her experience with the meme page on Instagram, the victim said:
On behalf of the audition, he called me at home and forced me to act. Then he laid me next to the bed and sexually harassed me. I couldn’t do anything at that time. Later, his friends called him and scolded him. He put my shirt in the closet and locked it. I had to fight to get the shirt back from him. Later he asked me not to reveal this incident to anyone and help me get into films. Then he blocked me. I couldn’t do anything, as many have told me that he has many political connections and knows some bigshots. They told me that I can’t do anything to him.”

In June 2022, during a debate on the English news channel Times Now, Vikraman insulted the Hindu god Lord Krishna and made an offensive statement about Lord Krishna’s illegitimate relationship with the gopis (devotees of Krishna) in his youth. She said,
Krishna’s youth was filled with illicit (immoral) love affairs with the women of Vrindavan. His name was Raslila.”
The statement received by Vikraman was found offensive by several people as it hurt their religious sentiments. He was branded anti-Hindu for making such derogatory remarks about a Hindu God. Rahul Eswar, an author on Hindu philosophy, expressed his opposition to Vikraman’s statement, saying:
Sri Krishna’s relationship with the gopis was not illicit but was a spiritual connection. Making such remarks about Hindu deities is nothing but Hinduphobia. In this way people try to diminish Hindu culture and faith. They make vulgar and offensive statements.”
An FIR was filed against the issuance of objection notices
In June 2022, the Delhi Police lodged an FIR against All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief Asaduddin Owaisi and 31 others, including Vikraman Radhakrishnan, for allegedly issuing provocative remarks allegedly promoting hatred on social media. He, along with 31 others, was booked under sections 153, 153A, 153B, 295A, 298, 504, 505 and 506 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
