Doddaallahal Kempegoda Suresh aka DK Suresh was born in Ramanagara district of Karnataka, India. According to one source, he was born on Sunday, December 18, 1966 (age 56 years; as of 2022), and according to another source, he was born on Friday, April 8, 1966 (age 57 years; as of 2023). He completed his 12th standard from Vivekananda College, Bangalore in 1985. Later, he entered the field of social services and politics.

He is the Deputy Chairman of the DKS Charitable Institute Trust, which works to provide clean drinking water to water-scarce villages. They have established more than 40 water treatment plants to supply water at a cost as low as 10 paise per liter. The trust also helps identify eligible beneficiaries of government welfare schemes. Moreover, they promote education in rural areas and give cash rewards to deserving students.
