Satish Jarkihole is an Indian politician, businessman and social worker. He has been a member of the Karnataka Legislative Assembly (MLA) since 2008 and has also served as a minister in various state governments in Karnataka. He is known for his awareness campaigns against Hindu superstitions.

Satish Laxmanrao Jarkihol was born on Friday 1 June 1962 (age 61; as of 2023) in Gokak, Belgaum, Karnataka, India. His zodiac sign is Gemini. politics
In 1992, while working as a director of the Central Cooperative Bank of Belagavi district, he entered politics. From 1998 to 2008, he won two elections as MLC from Belgaum District Local Government Constituency. He was a member of Janata Dal till 1999 and joined Janata Dal (Secular) (JD-S) in 1999 and was its member till 2005.
In 2006, he joined the Indian National Congress (INC). Since 2008, he has been a Member of the Karnataka Legislative Assembly (MLA) representing the Yemakanmardi constituency. On 11 March 2020, he became the Working President of the Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC).

From 2004 to 2005, he was the Minister of State for Textiles in the Government of Karnataka. From 2013 to 2016, he was the Excise Minister in Siddaramaiah’s cabinet. From 2018 to 2019, he was the Minister of Forests, Ecology and Environment in HD Kumaraswamy’s cabinet. He also became a cabinet minister in Siddaramaiah’s cabinet in 2023.

He contested the 2021 Lok Sabha (LS) by-elections from Belagavi (Belgaum) constituency after the death of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Suresh Angad. Suresh’s wife Mangala Suresh Angadi contested on a BJP ticket and she handed Satish his first electoral defeat in nearly 30 years by 5,240 votes.
