Hardwar Dubey (1949–2023) was an Indian politician associated with the Bharatiya Janata Party. He was a Member of Parliament in the Rajya Sabha from Uttar Pradesh. From 24 June 1991 to 6 December 1992, he was the Minister of State for Finance in the Government of Uttar Pradesh. He died on 26 June 2023 at Fortis Hospital in Delhi due to prolonged illness.

Career
In 1983, Hardwar Dubey assumed the post of Metropolitan Minister. During the BJP national convention held at Kothi Meena Bazar Maidan, he served as the Metropolis President.
Notably, he contested elections for the first time in 1989, winning in Cantonment (Uttar Pradesh), which had been under Congress control since independence. The party recognized his potential, gave him another chance in the 1991 elections and he delivered as expected. After the second victory, he was appointed as the Minister of State for Institutional Finance. However, due to controversy, he had to leave the position of minister within a year.
Subsequently, the dynamics changed and he faced a challenge to show his electoral strength. Nevertheless, his influence in the organization remained unchanged. In 2005, he contested the by-elections from Kheragarh Assembly constituency but was defeated. Besides, he had earlier lost the Agra-Firozabad Legislative Council elections.
In 2011, he assumed the position of State Speaker, and in 2013, he was appointed State Vice President. On 26 November 2020, Hardwar Dubey was elected to the Rajya Sabha unopposed from Uttar Pradesh.

Hardwar Dubey passed away after prolonged illness on 26 June 2023 at 4:30 am at Fortis Hospital, Delhi. He was admitted to hospital the night before his death after complaining of sudden chest pains. He was 74 years old at the time of his death. Many prominent BJP leaders have expressed grief over his death. Union Home Minister Amit Shah expressed his grief on Twitter, writing:
I have received the sad news of the sudden death of senior BJP leader and Rajya Sabha MP Hardwar Dubey ji. In his demise, the party lost a strong grassroots leader and dedicated worker. I express my condolences to the family members of the deceased. May God give peace to the departed souls. Om Shanti Shanti”.
