Sandeep Narwal was selected for the Haryana state team and was subsequently selected by the Sports Authority of India (SAI) in 2009. He was sent to Gandhinagar for further training under Jayaveer Sharma, who was instrumental in shaping Sandeep’s raid performance.
Pro Kabaddi League
Sandeep Narwal started his career in the Pro Kabaddi League with Patna Pirates and was an essential member of the team for the first three seasons, taking the team to the semi-finals in the 2nd season and winning the title in the 3rd season. Sandeep Narwal played with Telugu Titans in the 4th season. Telugu Titans did not make it to the playoffs despite inspired performances from Sande. In season 5, Puneri Paltan bought it at an auction for 72.6 lakhs. He was used both as a right cornerback and a backup raider. Puneri Paltan retained him for the 6th season after they lost in the playoffs.
For season 7, U Mumba bought Sandeep at the auctions for Rs 89 lakh.
In season 8, he played with Dabang Delhi KC and scored 64 points in 24 games.
Sandeep played the 9th season with UP Yoddhas.
International career
Sandeep Narwal first played for the Indian team in the Junior Asiad in 2011 where he caught the eye of several coaches due to his performances. He was part of the Indian team that won the gold medal in the 2016 South Asian Games. He was also part of the title-winning Indian team at the Kabaddi World Cup 2016 and Dubai Masters 2018. He was also part of the Indian team that won the bronze medal at the 2018 Asian Games after losing to Iran in the semi-finals.
