Sonali Singh, better known as Sonali Phogat, was an Indian actress and politician. He was the National Vice President of Mahila Morcha of BJP. He died of a heart attack in Goa on 22 August 2022.

Cinema and television
Sonali Phogat made her television debut in 2006 by hosting Haryanvi’s show on Dordshan. In 2019, he appeared in the web series “The Story of Badmashgar”. Sonali also featured in the music video of Haryanvi’s song “Bandook Aali Jaatni” (2019).
She played the role of Nawab Shah’s wife in Amma: Ek Maa Jo Laakhon Ke Liye Bani Amma (2020). In 2020, she entered the game reality show ‘Bigg Boss 14’ as a wild card contestant.

Sonali Phogat joined the political party Bharatiya Janata Party in 2008.

In 2019, he contested the 2019 Haryana Assembly Elections from Adampur constituency. However, he lost the election to Congress leader Kuldeep Bishnoi by 29,471 votes. Phogat has also worked for the BJP in the tribal areas of Jharkhand and Madhya Pradesh. Later, he was appointed to BJP’s scheduled tribe wing in Haryana, New Delhi and Chandigarh.

- Sonali was heavily criticized for her speech at a rally in Balsamand village in Hisar. On 8 October 2019, Phogat asked people to sing “Bharat Mata Ki Jai” and said that those who did not sing must be from Pakistan. However, he later apologized for such a statement.
- On 5 June 2020, a video surfaced in which Sonali was seen hitting official Sultan Singh with a slipper after he made an inappropriate comment. The incident took place when Sonali approached Agriculture Produce Market Committee member Sultan Singh with a list of farmer’s grievances.

On August 22, 2022, Sonali Phogat reportedly died of a heart attack in Goa. On 25 August 2022, her autopsy report was released, which confirmed multiple injuries on her body, after which Sonali’s family claimed that two of Sonali’s assistants had raped her before poisoning her and killing her.
