Swati Singh was born on Tuesday, August 1, 1978 (age 45; as of 2023) in Bokaro, Jharkhand. He received his Masters in Management from the University of Allahabad in 2001. In 2007, he completed his Master of Laws degree at Lucknow University.

Career
After Swati Singh’s husband, Daya Shankar Singh, was arrested and expelled from the Bharatiya Janata Party in a defamation case against BSP leader Mayawati, Swati Singh joined the BJP as the president of the BJP Mahila Morcha, the women’s wing of the Bharatiya Janata Party. Election from Sarojini Nagar Constituency on Bharatiya Janata Party ticket and won the election. She defeated Anurag Yadav of the Samajwadi Party by 34,179 votes to become the Minister of State in the Ministry of Women Welfare, Family Welfare, Maternity and Child Welfare. She has also served as Minister of State (Independent Charge) for NRI Women Welfare, Flood Control, Agricultural Exports, Agricultural Marketing and Agricultural Foreign Trade in the Government of Uttar Pradesh.

Inauguration of a beer bar
In May 2017, several photos of Swati Singh at the launch of a beer bar, Be the Beer, in Gomti Nagar, Lucknow went viral on social media, for which she faced a lot of criticism from the opposition and the public. Two senior IPS officers Gaurav Pandey (SSP, Rae Bareli) and his wife Neha Pandey (SP, Unnao) were also seen with Swati during the inauguration event. These images were shared as women protested against the sale and consumption of alcohol in Uttar Pradesh. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath sought clarity on this. When Swati Singh was asked about the incident, he said
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath sought an explanation from me; I have nothing more to say.”

Domestic violence case
In July 2016, Swati’s daughter-in-law Asha accused Swati of domestic violence. She alleged that Swati and other family members tortured her physically and mentally even when she was pregnant. She married Swati’s brother Puneet in May 2005 and within months the family started abusing her and kicked her out of the house several times. They threaten to kill her and her son. She claimed that in 2008 she filed a complaint against her mother-in-law, father-in-law and Swati, but someone must have forged it as Swati Singh’s name is not in the complaint file.
Complaint against BSP leader Mayawati
In 2016, Daya Shankar was suspended and expelled from the BJP party when she called BSP supremo Mayawati a whore. During the protest against Daya Shankar, some BSP activists started using abusive language against Daya Shankar’s wife and daughter. Swati Singh, her mother-in-law and others filed an FIR against Mayawati and other BSP party activists at the Lucknow police station.

He threatens the policeman
In November 2019, an audio recording of Swati Singh in which she questioned Circle Officer Binu Singh about filing an FIR against Ansali Builders and ordered him to withdraw the FIR went viral. Swati was heard claiming that the case against Ansali’s builder was false and the higher authorities requested that no case be filed against the builders. Regarding the mentioned issue, Minister Yogi summoned the minister and asked for an explanation.

Claims against her husband, Daya Shankar Singh
Amid the tension between Swati Singh and Daya Shankar Singh for the Sarojini Nagar ticket for the 2022 Legislative Assembly elections, an audio recording has gone viral in which Swati Singh is talking to someone saying that his condition is not good, please give him his documents, otherwise if Daya Shankar hears that he has been beaten up. When asked about the audio, he said it was an old clip.
