Shamas Nawab Siddiqui is an Indian film director. He is the brother of popular Bollywood actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui.

His mother is a housewife of Mehrooni. He has six brothers and two sisters. Her sister, Syama Tamshi Siddiqui, died in December 2019 at the age of 26 after a battle with breast cancer. Bollywood actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui is his elder brother.

Career
Director
Shamas Nawab Siddiqui started working as a television director in 2005 and has directed many television programs since then. In 2015, he directed the short film Miyan Kal Aana, produced by Nawazuddin Siddiqui. The film was based on the practice of Nikah Halala in Islam. The film was later screened at the Cannes International Film Festival in 2015 as a short film corner category.
After the success of her debut film, she did several more films including ‘Bole Chudiyan’, ‘Zero Kilometer’, ‘Chalta Purza’, ‘Gehu, Ganna aur Gun’ and ‘You are Not My Husband’.

In addition to directing, Shamas also tried his hand at film production. He has produced various Bollywood films like ‘Manto’, ‘Roam Rome Mein’ (2019) and ‘No Lands Man’ (2021).

On 20 March 2023, Nawazuddin Siddiqui filed a defamation suit against his estranged wife Anjana Pandey (Aaliya) and Shama Siddiqui, seeking compensation of Rs 100 million for the damages he suffered due to the misleading claims made by them. However, later the actor sent a “reconciliation project” to his wife. Shamas reportedly worked as Nawazuddin’s manager between 2008 and 2020, during which he was accused of cheating and deceiving Nawazuddin. The actor claimed that he had received legal notices from various government bodies for unpaid tax of Rs 37 crore that Shamas was supposed to pay. He also alleged that Shamas and Anjana blackmailed him with “cheap videos” and comments on social media. In response to the allegations leveled by Nawazuddin, Shamas wrote a lengthy note to the actor on Twitter questioning the defamation case and also revealed his other legal cases.

- In an interview, he revealed how his elder brother Nawazuddin Siddiqui encouraged him to pursue his career in photography. He revealed that Nawazuddin once read his notes of the scenes that were visually represented. She said,
After the reading, Nawaz bhai asked me if I would like to study further or join him in Mumbai to pursue cinematography. He helped me understand world cinema and also encouraged me to write screenplays.”
