Jaihind Kumar was born in Uttar Pradesh, India. After completing his schooling in Uttar Pradesh, he moved to New Delhi where he enrolled in Jamia Millia Islamia. He later joined the university’s theater group, the Pierrot Group, founded by Syed Alam, and participated in many plays. After graduation, he applied to the National School of Drama in New Delhi; However, he couldn’t because he hadn’t finished. After graduation, he went to Mandi, Himachal Pradesh, where he joined the Himachal Cultural Research Forum and Theater Academy, Mandi, affiliated to NSD, and joined the first batch of the academy. There he continued his acting course for a year.

Career
After completing his formal education, Jaihind Kumar moved to Mumbai to pursue a career in the film industry. In Mumbai, he auditioned for many films; However, he did not get a role in any film. He got several supporting roles in TV series but was dissatisfied, so he decided to leave acting for a while and started writing screenplays, in which he also failed. In 2010, he played the role of a fruit vendor in Tum Milo Toh Sahi; She shared the screen with famous actors like Nana Patekar, Dimple Kapadia and Suniel Shetty. In the same year, he appeared in the film Payback, in which he appeared as Sandy. He played the role of his father in the 2015 short film Jaya, for which he was nominated for Best Actor at the Madrid International Film Festival. In the same year, he appeared in the short film Miyan Kal Aana directed by Nawazuddin Siddiqui.
He got a major break in his acting career in 2016 after he bagged the role of Harnam in a black comedy crime drama film titled Laal Rang, in which he shared the screen with Randeep Hooda. In an interview when he was cast in the film, Jaihind said:
I attended a small party at actor Manav Kaul’s house and there Siddharth Hussain introduced me to Syed Ahmed Afzal, who directed Youngistaan. He was sharing Laal Rang music with everyone there and I was really impressed by it. Then he suddenly offered me a role in the film. He didn’t even know that I am an actor. It was the role of a rickshaw puller. That’s how I got the role in the film.”
Jaihind Kumar played a transgender character named Rani in the 2017 film Baaraat Company.
In the same year, she starred opposite Manoj Bajpai in the film Rukh. He directed a 2018 short film titled Utpataang. She played the role of Googun in the 2019 film Super 30, in which she shared the screen with Hrithik Roshan. On 23 May 2023, she appeared in the ZE5 courtroom drama film Sirf Ek Bandaa Kaafi Hai opposite Manoj Bajpai. The film was earlier titled Bandaa and is based on the true story of a lawyer named PC Solanki who fought against Asaram Bapu in the rape case of a minor girl.
