Sandeep Lamichhane is a Nepalese cricketer. He is one of the first eleven players to play for the Nepali national cricket team. He is the first Nepali footballer to play in the Indian Premier League (IPL).

Sandhi was born on August 2, 2000 (age 22 as of 2022) in Sianja, Nepal. As a child, he moved to the Chitwan district and started training at the Chitwan Cricket Academy run by former Nepal captain Raju Khadka. Under the guidance of Pubudu Dasanayake and Raju Khadka, he honed his skills and was selected for the National Under-19 training camp.

Career
International
On 16 April 2016, he made his international debut against Namibia in the 2015–17 ICC World Cricket League Championship. He subsequently played in the 2016 U19 Cricket World Cup for Nepal and in the second match against Ireland, he took a hat-trick. He was the second highest wicket-taker at the U-19 World Cup. In September 2016, former Australian captain Michael Clarke was impressed by his performance and invited him to play for the District Cricket Club in the Western Suburbs of Sydney.

In January 2018, Sandeep was selected in the Nepal team for the 2018 ICC World Cricket League Division Two tournament. In the very first match against Namibia, he was awarded the Man of the Match for his excellent bowling performance of 4/18 in 8.2 overs. After a series of good performances, he was named the best player of the tournament. In May 2018, he made his T20 debut after being selected in the ICC Rest of the World XI squad for the Hurricane Relief T20 Challenge against the West Indies at Lord’s. On 1 August 2018, he made his ODI debut against the Netherlands. During the 2018–19 ICC World Twenty20 Asia Qualifiers, he was the leading wicket-taker with 24 dismissals in 6 matches.

Domestic
In 2018, he was bought by the IPL Team, Delhi Daredevils for Rs 20 lakh. He was the first Nepalese player to play in the IPL. On his selection in the IPL, the then Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi said that the signing had strengthened the relationship between Nepal and India.

In March 2018, he was drafted into the Saint Kitts and Nevis Patriots of the Caribbean Premier League (CPL). In October 2018, he was signed by the Melbourne Stars in the Big Bash League (BBL), becoming the first Nepalese player to play in the BBL. In the same month, he was drafted into the Bangladesh Premier League and represented the Sylhet Sixers. In November 2018, Sandeep was also inducted into Lahore Qalandars of the Pakistan Super League.

In September 2022, a 17-year-old girl accused him of sexual harassment and she filed a complaint against Cricket in the Gaushala Metropolitan Police Circle. In her complaint, she said that as a cricket lover, he started interacting with her through WhatsApp and Snapchat and on August 21, 2022, he sexually assaulted her. Later, Interpol issued a diffusion notice against Cricket, who was on the run after the girl filed a complaint against him. After the report was issued against him, Lamichane took to Facebook to prove his innocence. She said,
All the accusations against me affected me mentally. I am mentally stressed and unwell and have been isolating myself. I followed the doctor’s advice”, said Lamichane. “I will return to Nepal as soon as possible.”
