Mansukhbhai Laxmanbhai Mandaviya was born on Thursday, June 1, 1972.age 49 years; As of 2021) in Hanoli village, Palitana taluka, Bhavnagar district, Gujarat. His zodiac sign is Gemini. He completed his schooling from Government Primary School (Hanoli, Gujarat) and Shree Gurukul Vividhlaxi High School (Songadi, Gujarat). After graduation, he completed a certificate course in veterinary and animal husbandry inspectorship. Studied Veterinary Science at Sardarkrushinagar Dantiwada Agricultural University, Palanpur, Gujarat. He received his MA in Political Science from Maharaja Krishnakumarsinhji Bhavnagar University (formerly Bhavnagar University). While pursuing his post-graduate studies, he was involved in student politics and was a member of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP). Soon after joining ABVP, he became the State Executive Member of Akhil Bharatiya Vidhyarthi Parishad, Gujarat.

Career
He started his political career in 1996 when he joined the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM). Then he was appointed as the leader of BJYM. In 1998, he became the president of Palitana Taluka BJP.
Member of the Legislative Assembly
In 2002, he started his political career by contesting the Gujarat Legislative Assembly elections from Palitani. He won the election and became the youngest Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) in Gujarat.
In 2004 and 2006 as MLA, he organized two padayatras of 123 km in 49 villages and 127 km in 52 villages respectively. Both the padayatras were organized by the Government of India in support of the ‘Beti Bachao, Beti Padao’ campaign. His first padayatra title was –

Until 2007, he served as the MLA of Palitana.
Chairman of Gujarat Agro Industries Corporation Limited
In 2011, he was appointed as the Chairman of Gujarat Agro Industries Corporation Limited. As chairman, he initiated the construction of an electronic radiation purification facility in Bavla, which was the first government facility. He also initiated the construction of a Poha (flattened rice) factory at Navsari, a modern banana packer at Achalya (Bharuchi) and a bio-fertilizer plant at Gondal. He served the position for one year.
Member of Rajya Sabha
In 2012, he was elected as a member of the Rajya Sabha.
In his first tenure, he raised 448 parliamentary questions, of which 86 were guaranteed by the Government of India. He also worked in the standing committee of various fields:
- Oil and natural gas
- Chemical and fertilizer industry
- Environment, forest and climate change
- Select Committee Real Estate Bill-2015
After completing his first term in 2018, he was re-elected as a member of the Rajya Sabha for the term 2018-2024.
Union Ministry
On July 5, 2016, he was sworn in as the State Minister of the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways.
In his tenure, he traveled for 540 days across 14 countries and almost every state and union territory of India, covering a distance of over 4.9 million km. He conducted nearly 394 meetings and attended 332 programs/seminars/workshops/events. He also facilitated the implementation of Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Jan Aushadhi Pariyojana (PMBJAP), which saw a rapid growth of PMBJAP Kendras from 347 to over 5,200.
On May 30, 2019, he was appointed State Minister (independent charge) for Shipping and State Minister for Chemicals and Fertilizers.
On 7 July 2021, Mandaviya became the Minister of Health and Family Welfare, preceded by Dr. Harshvardhan.

- In July 2021, after Mansukh was appointed as India’s Minister of Health and Family Welfare, his old English tweets resurfaced online. He was trolled and mocked excessively for not knowing English as a Union Minister. However, netizens and opposition leaders later supported him and said that Mansukh should be tried for his actions and not for his language.
- In 2019, he courted controversy when he took a dig at Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, saying that having a nose does not guarantee one’s power. At a political rally, he said:
There is talk in the Congress that she (Priyanka) has a nose like her grandmother (Indira). If you take power with your grandmother’s nose, then won’t there be a president in every family in China?”

- He often goes to the parliament by bicycle. In 2016, when the Council of Ministers arrived in cars for the swearing-in ceremony, Mandaviya, along with Arjun Ram Meghwal (Indian politician and member of the Lok Sabha), rode his bicycle from home to the Parliament for the swearing-in ceremony following Narendra Modi’s cabinet reshuffle. In 2019, he did the same at the swearing-in ceremony of Narendra Modi and the Council of Ministers in the new government. In an interview, he said:

- As part of the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, in 2019, Mansukh Mandaviya covered a 50 km padayatra. The padayatra began with tree plantations and a speech where he spoke about the connection between Gandhi’s thoughts and nature. He also released a 22,000km and 3-month cycling journey by three youngsters from Surat.
- In 2019, UNICEF (United Nations Children’s Emergency Fund) honored her for her contribution to women’s menstrual hygiene by using a chain of Jan Aushadhi Kendras to sell 10 million sanitary pads made with oxo-biodegradable technology at a nominal cost.
- Prime Minister Narendra Modi has always been fond of Mansukh as he used to talk about him in his various speeches.
