Madan Puri (1915-1985) was an Indian actor who worked in Hindi and Punjabi films. He is the brother of famous actors Amrish Puri and Chaman Puri. He died on January 13, 1985 of a heart attack at the age of 69.

“Madan Lal Puri”, known as Madan Puri, was born on Thursday 30 September 1915 (age 69; at death) in Nawanshahr, Punjab. He completed his formal education in Rahon, Punjab. He graduated from Hindu College-Delhi University. She later made a name for herself in Bollywood by supporting her first cousin, singer KL Saigal.

Madan began his acting career in the 1940s and made his debut in the film Ahinsa in 1946. He gained recognition for portraying negative and villainous roles in Hindi films. Some of his notable films and roles include ‘Savarg Narak’ as Lala Lalchand (1978), ‘Ram Bharose’ as Bose (1977), ‘Deewar’ (1975) as Samantha, ‘Dharmatma’ in 1975 and ‘Blackmail’ (1973) as ‘Dr. Khurana.’
He acted in Punjabi movies like Jatti, Jatt Punjabi etc. Puri’s performances have been marked by his strong screen presence and versatile acting prowess. Many of his films were released after his death. Madan Puri’s last performance was as ‘Kaka’ in Santosh (1989).
