Political career
In March 2016, Jeevan joined AAP. In the 2017 Vidhan Sabha elections, she managed the MAJITHA campaign and was the only female volunteer from the city to participate in the campaign. Later, she became the state co-president of AAP’s women’s wing. He coordinated the campaign during the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. He became the spokesperson of AAP Punjab in Amritsar North constituency in 2022. On 10 March 2022, he won the Amritsar East Assembly seat in the 2022 state legislative assembly elections in Punjab. and BJP candidate Jagmohan Singh Raju. The Election Commission said he got 39,520 votes, Sidhu 32,807 votes and Majithia 25,112 votes. In an interview, he talked about his victory and said:
After I met people after announcing my ticket on December 30, I got a very positive response. People told me that I might have come to them now, but that they had decided to vote for AAP six months ago… They told me to go home, rest.”
Social Worker
Jeevan is also passionate about social work. After completing his LLB, he served as the Chairman of Sri Hemkunt Society for Education (SHE), Amritsar, which works for the welfare of the poor and vulnerable people in the community. She is an active member in spreading awareness about menstrual hygiene and distributing reusable sanitary napkins to women. In an interview, she talked about the idea of promoting menstrual hygiene and said that she felt very bad when she saw women using unhygienic and harmful methods during menstruation. He further added,
The ones that are sold in the market are made of plastic which is hygienically hazardous in the long run. I also have a team of doctors with me who guarantee the same. Moreover, there is no commercial motive behind this move, it is just to ensure that women get the right methods.”
In 2013, he became the Managing Director of Kids Bulletin Pvt. Ltd., Amritsar. In February 2015, he served as the President of People’s Forum for Justice, Amritsar. In August 2015, she became a part of the ALL Ladies League and worked there as a Chapter Chairman. In 1995, she became a member of the EcoShe Menstrual Health Program, which aims to create a clean and healthy environment for women in Amritsar.
