Career

Anantjeet Singh Naruka started his shooting career in 2012, followed by participating in competitions in 2013. In 2014, Anant participated in the Asian Shotgun Championship. In 2015, he participated in the 59th National Shooting Championship (Shotgun) held in Jaipur, Rajasthan. He beat two national champions, Man Singh and Mairaj Ahmed Khan. In 2015, Anantjeet scored 110 and 12 in the Junior men’s skeet category at the 7th International Junior Shotgun Cup held in Orimattila, Finland. As the Indian team, Anantjeet Singh Naruka, Angadvir Bajwa, and Arjun Mann scored 110, 119, and 102 respectively. In the same year, Anant participated in the 2nd ISSF Junior Cup tournament held at Suhl, Germany. In 2021, he participated in the 64th National Shooting Championship Competition held in Patiala, Punjab, India.

Facts/Trivia

  • Anantjeet Singh Naruka’s personal coach has always been his father, Dalpat Singh Naruka. He used to accompany his father to the Jagatpura shooting range and learn shooting techniques from him. Anant and his father started travelling 130 km every day to Jaipur’s Oases shooting range for his training. Anant’s family belonged to the royal family of Uniara in the Tonk district of Rajasthan which is why he was always surrounded by guns. His grandfather was also a shooter.
