Facts/Trivia

  • According to Somabhai Modi, when Narendra Modi told him that he wanted to become a politician, he was skeptical about his decision because of the instability that politics could create in Narendra’s life. Speaking about this, he said:

Soma wrote the letter when Narendra Modi inquired about the well-being of an old acquaintance who was among several other attendees at a public meeting. The letter read

I felt that he was not well. I wrote that emphasizing dating during such a public meeting was not ideal. You were sitting there as a judge. People can object to it, and they can also misinterpret your decision – it doesn’t matter that you might have made an unbiased decision. I wrote about a film I watched a long time ago, Sohrab Modi’s Nausherwan-e-Adil, in which Nausherwan punishes his son for a crime despite his wife crying.”
