Satyendar Jain is an Indian politician. On 14 February 2015, he was appointed as seven cabinet ministers by the Aam Aadmi Party led by Arvind Kejriwal in the Delhi government. In the cabinet, he was allotted the portfolios of health and family welfare, industries, housing, power, water, urban development and irrigation and flood control. In 2020, Satyendar Jain was appointed as the Health Minister of Delhi for the third time.

Satyendar Jain was born Satyendar Kumar Jain on Saturday, 3 October 1964 (age 58 years; as of 2022) in village Kirthal, district Baghpat, Uttar Pradesh. His zodiac sign is Libra. Career
Satyendar Kumar Jain started working in the Central Public Works Department (CPWD) right after completing his college studies. Later, he quit his job and planned to start an architectural consulting firm. In 2011, he joined the anti-corruption movement initiated by Anna Hazare and later joined the Aam Aadmi Party to start his career as a politician. He contested the Delhi Assembly elections from Shakur Basti constituency in 2013 and won the election. On 28 December 2013, he was appointed as the Minister of Health and Family Welfare, Gurudwara Elections and Industries in the Delhi Cabinet, a position he held till 14 February 2014. And he worked in the second position until February 13, 2020. In 2020, he again won the Delhi Assembly elections from Shakur Basti constituency with 7,592 votes for the third time and was appointed to the Ministry of Health in Delhi. The Aam Aadmi Party has appointed Satyendar Kumar Jain as the in-charge for the 2022 Himachal Pradesh Assembly elections. On 28 February 2023, he resigned as a minister in the Delhi government.

The Enforcement Directorate indicted Satyendar Kumar Jain in a money laundering case in 2017 and soon after, a case was registered against him by the CBI. Meanwhile, Kapil Mishra, leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party, told a media conference that Satyendar Jain had collected Rs. 50 million deal with Arvind Kejriwal’s daughter-in-law. Kapil Mishra said:
Satyendar Jain (Delhi Health Minister) himself told me that he managed to get a land deal worth Rs 50 crore in Chhatarpur (South Delhi) for Kejriwal’s daughter-in-law. The deal is done for the Bansal family.
In 2018, this issue was closed and no progress was made. In June 2022, the CBI and ED raided his residence and the investigating agencies accused him of misleading the agencies by using his family members, including his two daughters. In their report, the investigating agencies revealed that Jain’s wife and two daughters received crores of rupees from companies linked to Satyendar Jain.
Charges of money laundering
Arvind Kejriwal, AAP supremo and Delhi Chief Minister, said in a media conference in early 2022 that central government agencies planned to arrest his cabinet minister Satyendar Kumar Jain in a counterfeit and fraudulent money laundering case before the 2022 Punjab Legislative Assembly elections. Satyendar Kumar Jain, while talking to the media, said that he was ready to welcome officials from the Enforcement Directorate to investigate him. Jain observed
They (ED) are welcome to come whenever they want. They hit me twice before, but everything was in vain. It’s all politics and they did it during the last Punjab elections too. ED, CBI all welcome. I am ready, if they want to catch me, they will catch me.”
In May 2022, the Enforcement Directorate arrested Satyendar Kumar Jain in the 2017 money laundering case. Investigation documents unearthed by the Enforcement Directorate said that Satyendar Kumar Jain, as a civil servant, received money worth Rs 4.81 crore from some shell companies for cash transferred to Kolkata-based entry operators through hawala route. The amount transferred was used to purchase land and repay loans taken to purchase agricultural land in and around Delhi. The CBI claimed
In the five years before 2018, Jain bought 200 bigha of agricultural land in Delhi in the name of companies he controlled and “laundered black money” to the tune of several crores of rupees.
On 31 May 2022, Arvind Kejriwal stated on national television that he himself had examined all the documents and his cabinet minister Satyendar Jain was not guilty at all. Arvind Kejriwal further added that these documents were completely fake. Kejriwal said
I have personally read the Satyendra Jain case filed by ED and it is totally fake. All actions taken by centralized agencies are politically motivated. And in this case, Jane was also targeted for political reasons. We have a very honest government that neither tolerates nor tolerates corruption. This case will not last long, in the end the truth always wins. We believe in our judicial system.”

- Before entering politics, Satyendar Kumar Jain volunteered with Drishti, an organization working for the welfare of the visually impaired and SPARSH, an organization that caters to the needs of the physically and mentally challenged.
- In 2016, Satyendar Kumar Jain was criticized by some opposition leaders in Delhi for appointing his daughter, Soumya Jain, as adviser to the health secretary of the National Health Mission without any prior experience in the medical field. After the news went viral in the media, Satyendar Kumar Jain clarified that his daughter wanted to serve the people of Delhi as a volunteer for the Delhi Health Mission. Satyendar Kumar said,
He got admission in IIM Indore but he leaves it all to serve people in Delhi. Soumya is involved in Delhi Health Mission as a volunteer. He did not receive any car, house or money from the state.”
