Rohit Godara Kapurisar is a criminal hailing from Bikaner, Rajasthan who is associated with the Lawrence Bishnoi and Goldy Brar gang. Criminal Activities
Rohit Godara, originating from Kapurisar in the Loonkaransar region of Bikaner, stepped into the world of crime when he was 19. Godara has over 32 registered criminal cases across various police stations nationwide. He is associated with the Lawrence Bishnoi and Goldy Brar gang who are notorious for being involved in the killing of the popular Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala in 2022.
Murder of Gangster Raju Thehat
On 3 December 2022, gangster Raju Thehat was shot dead in the Udyog Nagar area of Sikar, Rajasthan near his residence by some unknown miscreants. Rohit Godara claimed responsibility for Theth’s killing, asserting that he sought revenge for the killings of gangster Anand Pal Singh and Balveer Banura. According to sources, there was an ongoing feud between Raju Theth and the Anand Pal gang. Reports indicate that the Anand Pal gang collaborated with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang to avenge his killing. Anand Pal Singh was killed in a police encounter on 24 June 2017. The event became a rallying point for Rajput outfits as Anand Pal was a cult figure among many Rajput and Ravana Rajput communities. The youth saw him as a defender of Rajputs against the rival Jat community. Moreover, Anandpal gained recognition for his practice of redistributing wealth, giving to the poor and stealing from the rich. This earned him a reputation akin to that of Robin Hood. Hence, the news of his encounter led to violent protests in Rajasthan in which railway tracks were uprooted, public property was damaged, and a person was allegedly killed in police firing.
Murder of SRRKS Chief Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi
On 5 December 2023, Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi, a prominent Hindu leader in Rajasthan and the President of the right-wing group Shri Rashtriya Rajput Karni Sena (SRRKS), was fatally shot by unidentified attackers in the Shyam Nagar area of Jaipur. The entire incident was captured on CCTV. Four individuals entered the house where Gogamedi was present and opened fire. In the retaliatory firing, one of Gogamedi’s security personnel, Ajit Singh, was injured, and one of the assailants, Naveen Singh Shekhawat, was killed. The rest of them quickly fled the scene. Gogamedi was seen collapsing from the gunshot wounds in the video. Despite being rushed to the hospital, he succumbed to his injuries and died. Following the attack, Rohit Godara Kapurisar openly claimed responsibility for Gogamedi’s murder via a Facebook post.

In the post, Rohit Godara claimed to be associated with Lawrence Bishnoi and Goldy Brar and said that he killed Gogamedi because the latter supported their enemies. However, the authenticity of the post could not be independently verified.
Others Accused in Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi’s Murder
Around 6 December, the police identified two accused namely Rohit Rathore Makrana and Nitin Fauji and placed a reward of Rs 5 Lakhs on each leading to their arrest. Nitin Fauji, hailing from Mahendragarh, was among the shooters and he was the one who shot at Gogamedi. Reportedly, Nitin Fauji was also in touch with gangster Lawrence Bishnoi gang.
