Rekha Gupta was born on Friday, 19 July 1974 (age 48; as of 2022) in Julana, Haryana. His zodiac sign is Cancer. She did her schooling in Manender Shakti Vidyalaya, Keshavpuram till class 10 and later joined Government Girls High School, Ashok Vihar. He completed his BA in Commerce from Daulat Ram College, Delhi, LLB from Chaudhary Charan Singh University, Meerut, Master of Arts from Delhi University and Masters in Business Administration. According to her, when she was in school and college, she was a really bright student and good at extracurricular activities. Rekha started her political career while studying in college. In 1992, after graduation, he joined the student organization Akhil Bhartiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP). In 1994, he became the Secretary of Daulat Ram College, Delhi. In 1995, he worked as the secretary of the Delhi University Students’ Union (DUSU). In 1996, he became the president of DUSU.

In 2003, he was elected as the secretary of Bhartiya Janta Party Yuva Morcha, Delhi. In 2004, he became the national secretary of the BJP Yuva Morcha. In 2007, she was elected councilor from Uttar Pithampura (54 ward) and also became the Chairperson of Women Welfare and Child Development Committee MCD. In 2009, he became the General Secretary of Delhi Mahila Morcha. In 2010, he was elected as the national executive member of the BJP. In 2012, he contested Municipal Corporation of Delhi elections from Pitampura North constituency. In 2022, he was nominated as BJP’s mayoral candidate from Delhi after the 2022 Municipal Corporation of Delhi elections and won the seat in constituency No. 56 from Shalimar Bagh-B constituency. In the interview, he talked about his nomination and said:
I appeal to all councilors who vote for the development and improvement of Delhi. I hope they listen to their conscience and find the right mayor for the city.”

Rekha started her handicraft business in Pitampura in 2000. The name of his enterprise is “Akriti Crafts and Events”. In an interview, she said that she started the business to provide jobs to young talented girls. Her business provides handicrafts, festival/seasonal decorations, corporate memorabilia and event/theme management.

Facts/Trivia
- In college, while he was part of the student body, he came up with the idea of a common admission form that would benefit many students. He formed various committees to stop sexual harassment and teasing of girls in colleges. He drew attention to the lack of special buses for university students.
- As a councillor, he developed a swimming pool, gym, library and community hall at CU Block Market, Pitampura. He solved the parking problem by introducing the idea of comprehensive underground parking in Pitampura. He worked to build a park in every block of the area and named them after characters from the Ramayan. In order to listen to the problems of the slum dwellers, he set up the Administrative Office of the Municipal Council at Hyderpur. He worked to solve other problems, including the installation of street lights in Hyderpur district, regular distribution of pensions to the poor, elderly and widows, road maintenance, a women sexual harassment helpline and mobile garbage trucks in Pitampura district.
- When she became the chairperson of the Women’s Welfare and Child Development Committee MCD, she launched the ‘Sumedha Yojna’, which provides money for girls from poor families to pursue higher education. He also came up with a plan to provide pension for divorced women. She also conducted personality development classes for women selected as counselors where Smt. Sushma Swaraj and Smt. Krishna Tirath was giving lectures. He often gave prizes to children of MCD schools in Delhi for academic excellence. In Delhi, he started free health check-up camps for children and women. She launched various campaigns to raise awareness about female feticide and child labour.
- He is an active social worker and started an NGO “Active Association for Society” (AAS Foundation). As a rule, the NGO appointed housewives to work in the organization. He started the Chalo Sudama Dwar program where people from rich families would donate and donate to the needy. She is the Women’s Trustee and Women’s Coordinator of Maharaja Agrasen International Kidney Hospital and provides affordable and free treatment to the needy. He married many girls from poor families under the program started by PU-Ramlila Committee Pitampura. He also started a movement against cow slaughter (Go-hatya).
