Parshav Gaurav Chopra was born on Wednesday, 10 May 2006 (age 17 years; as of 2023) in Sikandrabad, Bulandshahr, Uttar Pradesh. He grew up in a cricket-loving family with his grandfather, Parshuram Chopra, who was once a zonal-level cricketer, and a father and uncle who played club cricket. Talking about the family’s love for cricket in an interview, Parshav’s uncle Ram Chopra said:

However, he started his sporting journey in skating before his father switched him to cricket. He won silver at the Uttar Pradesh U-14 Championship. He first started playing cricket at the age of 10 with his neighborhood boys. After that, his parents realized his passion for the sport and enrolled him in a cricket academy.

He trained at two academies, Youngstar Cricket Academy and Yuvraj Singh Center of Excellence. As of 2023, he is in the 9th grade and continues his studies at his uncle Ram Chopra’s school in his hometown.

Career

Domestic

Parshav Chopra represents Uttar Pradesh at the domestic level. He failed to make the Uttar Pradesh state under-16 team when he first went for trials at the age of 12, as he was under-age as per the rules. The following year, he was selected to play in the UP U-16 tour of Chhattisgarh. He was adjudged the best bowler in the U-16 Chhattisgarh tour. After that, he was selected for the U-19 camp. Parshav set a national record in the match against Baroda where he bowled 6 maiden overs with 3 wickets. In 2019, he played for the UP team in the U-19 Nationals. However, the tournament was suspended due to the Covid-19 lockdown. His excellent performance led to his selection in the National Cricket Academy. He played in the BCCI U-16 One Day Tournament (2018-19) in which he took 17 wickets. In the following season, he played in the BCCI U-19 One Day trophy. Taking 21 wickets, he was the second highest wicket-taker in the BCCI U-19 One Day trophy (2019-2020).

International

In the Women’s Quad U19 T20 Series (2022), she played for India A, who won the final match against India B Women by 7 wickets. On 27 November 2022, he made his T20I debut against New Zealand at the MCA Bandra Kurla Complex Ground in Mumbai in the home series. India won all five matches of the series. She was then named in the Indian squad for the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup.
