An avid sportsman as a child, Nupur grew up playing tennis and wanted to pursue a career in it. He was a national level tennis player. He did his schooling at Seth Dagaduram Kataria High School, Pune. He also practiced Capoeira in Pune, India. Later, he attended RA Podar College of Commerce & Economics. In 2004, when he moved to Mumbai, he gravitated towards cinema. After that, he started making short films and videos, which got noticed by a Marathi film director who offered him a job as an assistant director in Nurpur. After working as an assistant director, Nurpur became a fitness trainer.

Career
He had a brief stint as an assistant director and soon quit to pursue a career in fitness and training. The manager of the gym, where Nupur was training, offered to engage him as a trainer. Nupur used to go around Bandra handing out her business cards to fancy gyms asking them to contact her if there was a vacancy. One day he got Sushmita Sen’s contact number after which he texted me “I am a fitness trainer and I want to train”. On March 28, 2008, he started working as a personal trainer for Sushmita Sen.

In 2017, he represented India on Netflix’s Ultimate Beastmaster: India. He has a diverse background in fitness training that includes, gym training, circuit training, functional training, parkour, martial arts, capoeira, cross fit and body weight training. Apart from Sushmita Sen, Nupur also trains Aamir Khan, Ira Khan and Kiran Rao.
