MS Bitta is an Indian social activist and former politician who served as a minister in the Punjab state government. He was a member of the Indian National Congress and was the president of the Indian Youth Congress. MS Bitta aka Maninderjit Singh Bitta was born in 1957 (age 65; as of 2022) at Chowk Babasar, near Golden Temple, Amritsar, Punjab. He was not interested in studies and had many street fights as a child. When he was 7 years old, he used to walk in Jallianwala Bagh with his grandfather who told him about the massacre of 1919. MS Bitta took an oath at Jallianwala Bagh that he will always protect the rights of Indians by any means. His grandfather gave him biographies of many Indian freedom fighters such as Bhagat Singh, Chandrashekhar Azad and Subhash Chandra Bose. Due to multiple fights with other children, he had to change schools three times and dropped out of Khalsa College Amritsar after 2 years. He joined the Congress Seva Dal when he turned 14.
