Karthik Tyagi was born on Wednesday, 8 November 2000 (age 20 years; as of 2020) in Dhanaura village, Hapur, Uttar Pradesh. His zodiac sign is Scorpio. Karthik studied in LN Public School, Hapur, but he was least interested in studies. Karthik’s father’s financial condition was not favorable and also he did not want his son to become a farmer like him. After mulling over various issues, Karthik’s father admitted his 11-year-old son to the City Professional Cricket Academy in Meerut. After experimenting with different departments of cricket for several months, Tyagi realized his potential in fast bowling. Over time, his performance improved and he continued to take advantage of opportunities that came his way.

Career

Karthik Tyagi was selected to play for the Uttar Pradesh under-14 cricket team at the age of 13, followed by the under-16 cricket team. He took 50 wickets in his debut under-16 season. Impressed with his performance, the Uttar Pradesh cricket team selectors included him directly in the senior squad for the Ranji Trophy before being selected for the Under-19 team. On 6 October 2017, at the age of 16, Karthik played his first Ranji Trophy match for Uttar Pradesh (UP) against Railways in Lucknow. On 5 February 2018, he played his first List-A match representing Uttar Pradesh against Delhi in Bilaspur, UP. In the player auction IPL 2020, Rajasthan Royals bought him for a whopping INR 1.30 crores. He was also part of the Indian squad for the 2020 U-19 Cricket World Cup. He took eleven wickets in six matches played in the tournament.

On 6 October 2020, Karthik Tyagi made his T20 debut for Rajasthan Royals against Mumbai Indians in Abu Dhabi.
