Fahim Ashraf is a professional Pakistani cricketer. He plays for Habib Bank Limited in first-class cricket and is also a part of the Pakistan national cricket team. In August 2018, Ashraf was among the 33 players who received a central contract from the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) for the 2018–19 season. He is the first Pakistani cricketer to take a hat-trick in T20 Internationals.

Rana Fahim Ashraf was born on Sunday, 16 January 1994 (age 39 years; as of 2023) in Phul Nagar, Punjab, Pakistan. His zodiac sign is Capricorn. When he was young, Fahim Ashraf dreamed of joining the Pakistan Army and cricket was not his main focus. But everything changed when he watched the 2007 World Twenty20 tournament. At the age of 13, after witnessing this momentous event, Fahim developed a strong desire to make a valuable contribution to his country through cricket. Around the same time, Pakistan lost the final of the 2007 World Twenty20 against their rivals India. This experience motivated the young Faheem Ashraf to pursue a career in cricket rather than join the Pakistan Army.

Fahim Ashraf was the highest wicket-taker in the 2016-17 Divisional One Day Trophy with 19 wickets. He then captained the Punjab team in the 2017 Pakistan Cup and took eight dismissals in four matches. Fahim Ashraf joined Pakistan’s One Day International (ODI) squad in March 2017 but did not play in the series against West Indies. In April 2017, he was selected as part of Pakistan’s ODI squad for the 2017 ICC Champions Trophy.

In the 2017 ICC Champions Trophy warm-up game against Bangladesh, Ashraf scored 64 runs to help Pakistan win by two wickets. He played his first ODI for Pakistan on 12 June 2017 against Sri Lanka in the Champions Trophy match. He bowled Dinesh Chandimal in that game and became the first Pakistani cricketer to do so in ODIs. He made his Twenty20 International (T20I) debut for Pakistan on 12 September 2017 against a World XI as part of the 2017 Independence Trophy. On 27 October 2017, during the second T20I between Pakistan and Sri Lanka at the Sheikh Zayed Cricket Stadium in Abu Dhabi, Faheem Ashraf became the first Pakistani bowler and the sixth player overall to take a hat-trick in a T20I.

In April 2018, Fahim Ashraf was selected in the Pakistan Test squad for the May tours of Ireland and England. He featured in Pakistan’s first Test match against Ireland on 11 May 2018. Islamabad United picked Faheem Ashraf from the Gold category during Pakistan Super League 2018. Fahim Ashraf has been a key contributor to his team’s success in the 2018 season. He finished with the most wickets in the competition and won the bowler of the season award and the Maroons cap after the match.

Fahem Ashraf recorded his first five-wicket haul in an ODI (One Day International) against Zimbabwe in July 2018 at Bulawayo’s Queens Sports Club. He was named PCB’s Emerging Player of the Year in August 2018.

In September 2018, he was selected to play for the Paktia team in the first competition of the Afghan Premier League. In April 2019, Fahim was selected to play for Pakistan in the 2019 Cricket World Cup. However, on May 20, 2019, when the final roster for the tournament was revealed, he was kicked out of the group. Fahim Ashraf was selected as part of the Central Punjab squad for the 2019–20 Quaid-e-Azam Trophy competition in September 2019.

Fahim Ashraf has been selected as one of the 29 players for Pakistan’s tour of England in June 2020. This tour was organized in the midst of the spread of COVID-19. He was one of the 20 athletes selected to represent Pakistan in the Test matches against England in July 2020. He is signed by Islamabad United for the 2022 Pakistan Super League. Fahim Ashraf joined Galle Gladiators in July 2022 to play in the third season of the Lankan Premier League.
