Yash Pal Dayal was born on Saturday, 13 December 1997 (age 25 years; as of 2022) in Chakiya Mohalla, Karbala, Prayagraj (then Allahabad), Uttar Pradesh, India. His zodiac sign is Sagittarius. He started playing cricket as a child after seeing his father playing cricket. He started playing cricket at the age of eight and played in a senior division match at the age of ten. He attended Bishop Johnson’s School, Prayagraj, where he began cricket training at the age of twelve under Ghulam Murtaza, father of cricketer Ali Murtaza. He later studied at Kendriya Vidyalaya, New Cantt, Prayagraj and played many tournaments for his school. He trained at the Allahabad Cricket Academy. Played in regional and national level teams and captained the Varanasi region team for the national school tournament. When he was in the 10th standard, his father asked him if he wanted to become a cricketer or focus on his studies; He then decided to become a professional cricketer. He did his Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Psychology from Sam Higginbottom University of Agriculture, Technology and Sciences (SHUATS), Prayagraj.

He played his ODI debut for Uttar Pradesh on 21 September 2018 against Chhattisgarh in the Vijay Hazare Trophy and took 1 wicket for 41 runs. He made his Ranji debut for Uttar Pradesh on 1 November 2018 against Goa and took 2 wickets for 74 runs in the match. He played his T20 debut for Uttar Pradesh on 21 February 2019 against Maharashtra in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy and took 1 wicket for 17 runs. He took 5 wickets for 48 runs in the Ranji match and 9 wickets for 121 runs in the Ranji match. He played for the India A team in India’s tour of New Zealand in 2022. In the 2022 IPL season 2022 mega auction, he was bought for Rs 3.2 crore by Gujarat Titans (GT) against a base price of Rs 20 lakh. He made his IPL debut on 13 April 2022 against Rajasthan Royals. He helped the Titans win the 2022 IPL tournament, taking 11 wickets in 9 matches at an average of 26.91 and an economy of 9.25 with best bowling figures of 3 wickets for 40 runs.
