Between 1996 and 2023, he worked with a number of famous brands such as Nike, HP, Coca-Cola, Amazon, Bose Audio Systems, Aircel, Horlicks, Bacardi, Lay’s and Tanishq. During this time he directed and produced many commercials. Oni and his long-time friend and associate Suparna Chatterjee founded a venture house, Electric Dreams Film Company, in 2010. According to reports, Sen and Chatterjee worked together for almost 20 years, from 2000 to 2023.
In 2011, Sen shot an advertisement for Horlicks Gold when it was first launched. The ad focused on the bond between a mother and her growing son and soon gained widespread popularity. On March 8, 2018, he released a short film titled Paro on YouTube. The film was developed for HP Inc in San Diego, California. He won acclaim and made it to the final round of the 2018 Cannes Film Art Director competition.
Documentary
Sen made his documentary debut with the critically acclaimed The Saints of Sin, released in 2016. The Saints of Sin took three years to complete. The documentary revolved around the lives of eight women from different parts of the world and focused on the seven cardinal sins. The Saints of Sin received many awards and was screened at several international and national film festivals.

In 2020, he made his debut as a web series director with the Hindi-language crime thriller web series Asur: Welcome to Your Dark Side, which aired on the OTT platform Voot. The first episode, The Dead Can Talk, was released on March 2, 2020 and was well received by viewers and critics. The first season of the series was divided into eight episodes and all episodes were released in the first week of March 2020.

He has been approached to direct the second season of the Hindi-language web series Out of Love in 2021; The second season of the series was released in April 2021 and received a positive response from the audience. Asur: Welcome to Your Dark Side was later renewed for a second season by popular demand; However, filming and other works were delayed due to the Covid-19 lockdown and the release of the second season was pushed back to June 2023.
