In 2015, Kavita made her television debut with the serial Dosti… Yaariyan… Manmarziyan, in which she played the role of Payal. She has appeared in various other TV shows such as Beyhadh (2016), KumKum Bhagya (2018), Ishq Aaj Kal (2019), Kartik Purnima (2020) and Avrodh: The Siege Within (2020). In the interview, he talked about his acting career and said:
Oh! This is still very new to me. I started acting about five years ago. I was an ordinary mother living in Delhi, taking care of my three children, son-in-law and husband, going to many parties like any other Delhi woman. Acting just happened by accident. So someone spotted my elder daughter at a wedding and the writers and producers of the TV series Manmarziyan were discussing new faces for the show. Before Orvana’s name was chosen for the show’s second lead, writer Durjoy Dutta, who is also a family friend, casually said with his team, “Uski mama ko bhi check kar lena. He doesn’t look too bad.’ That’s how it was.”
