Vandana Gupte is the daughter of Amar Varma and Indian classical singer Manik Varma. She has three sisters namely Aruna Jaiprakh, Rani Varma who is an Indian singer and recording artist, and Bharati Achrekar who is an Indian Hindi and Marathi actress.

Vandana is married to criminal defense lawyer Shirish Gupte. The couple married on March 20, 1973. They were blessed with a son named Abhijit Gupte. In 2023, Vandana and Shirish celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.

Career

Vandana made her film debut with the Marathi film Pasant Aahe Mulgi. Her notable films include: Pachhadlel (2004), Meerabai Not Out (2008), Samaantar (2009) and Andhali Koshimbir (2014).
Her role in the movie “Family Cat” (2016) as “Malathi Sabnis” was liked by the audience.
His latest films are ‘Karkhanisanchi Waari: Ashes on a road trip’ (2021) and ‘Baipan Bhaari Deva’ (2019).

Vandana started acting in the Hindi television series Zee TV’s ‘x Zone’ in 1998. In 2008 and 2009, she worked in Colors TV’s ‘Bandhan Saat Janamon Ka’ and played the role of ‘Kamini’.
She appeared in SAB TV’s comedy show ‘Sajan Re Jhoot Maat Bolo’ in 2017. She became a part of Marathi TV serial ‘Sukhachya Sarini He Man Baware’ in 2020.

Gupte played in 50 plays. She started her career in 1970 with the Marathi language all female play ‘Padmashree Dhundiraj’. This was followed by many productions like ‘Madanbaadhaa’, ‘Gaganbhedi’, ‘Jhunja’, ‘Char Diwas Premache’ etc. She appeared in a Hindi play called ‘Char Din Pyaar Ke’. His Marathi play ‘Haravlelya Pattyancha Banglaa’ was well received by the audience.
