Humaira Himu (1985-2023) was a Bangladeshi actress known for her work in the Bangladeshi television industry. She was found dead at her residence on 2 November 2023.

Humaira Himu was born on Saturday, 23 November 1985 (age 37 years; at the time of death) in Lakshmipur, Bangladesh. In 1999, she moved to Dhaka after completing her Secondary School Certificate (SSC) exams.

Theatre artist

Humaira Himu started her career as a theatre artist with a theatre group named Nagorik Natyangan after she moved to Dhaka in 1999. Later, she worked with several other theatre groups.

Television

Humaira Himu made her television debut with the TV series ‘PI’ in which she appeared opposite Dilip Chakrabarti. She appeared alongside Chanchal Chowdhury in the TV series ‘Ghor Kutum’ in 2oo8. The series was aired on Channel i Classic.

In 2011, she acted in the TV series ‘Choumohol,’ which aired on Banglavision. She played a negative role in the television drama series ‘Shonghat’ (2018), aired on Boishakhi TV.

In 2014, she appeared in the TV show ‘DB,’ which aired on the channel ATN Bangla. She played the role of an officer of  the Detective Branch of Police in the TV show. In the same year, she appeared in the TV series ‘Chairman Bari,’ which aired on Boishakhi TV.

She appeared in the comedy TV series ‘Chaya Bibi’ in 2019. The TV series was broadcast on Boishakhi TV. Her performance in the television drama series ‘Tomar Doyai Valo Achi Ma’ received immense appreciation from the audience.

Death

Humaira Himu took her last breath on 2 November 2023. She was taken to Uttara Adhunik Medical College Hospital in Dhaka by one of her friends. However, he departed from the hospital before the arrival of the police. According to some reports, she committed suicide after she had an argument with her partner. She was buried
