Tanuja P Kanwar was born on Wednesday, 28 January 1998 (age 25 years; as of 2023) in Theog, Shimla, Himachal Pradesh. He was interested in sports from an early age and until 2011 played Gulf cricket with the boys at his place. Tanuja was around 15 when her father enrolled her in the HCC Academy in Dharamshala, Himachal Pradesh. In an interview, he revealed that his father played an important role in shaping his career.
