2004 general elections

Pratibha contested from Mandi Lok Sabha constituency and won the seat by defeating BJP candidate Maheshwar Singh by 66,566 votes. During his tenure, he was appointed as a member of the Social Justice and Empowerment Committee, the Advisory Committee and the Committee of the Ministry of Tourism and Public Enterprises.

Pratibha Mandi won the Lok Sabha seat by defeating BJP candidate Jai Ram Thakur by 2,16,765 votes.

On 3 August 2009, a case was registered against Virbhadra Singh and his wife Pratibha Singh for their alleged involvement in illegal money transactions. Gudia was criticized for his controversial remarks on the rape case

In June 2022, Pratibha Singh courted controversy when he referred to the Gudia rape case as “Choti Si Vardat” (a minor accident). As Pratibha’s video went viral on social media, she received severe criticism for defaming and disrespecting women.
