He traveled and lived in various places like Jalanhar, Chandigarh, Panchkula, Delhi, Mumbai before finally settling in the house now known as his temple located in Defense Colony, Jalandhar. Until 2002, he traveled frequently between Delhi and Jalandhar before finally residing at Chota Mandir, also known as Empire Estate House on MG Road in New Delhi.
In the 90s, he established a Shiv Mandir at Bhat Mine, Chhatarpur, which is now recognized as Bade Mandir and has a Samadhi. In addition, he founded many ashrams all over the world.
There are three famous Guruji temples in India accessible to the general public. Bada Mandir, located in Delhi, is one of them and attracts a large number of devotees every week. It has a colossal granite lingam, representing the Hindu deity Lord Shiva, on top. Jalandhar Mandir, located in Punjab, is open every month on Pooranmashi (full moon evening).
Dugri Mandir, located in Malerkotla, Sangrur, Punjab, is open every first Sunday of the month.
In 1995, Guruji was headquartered in S Block, Greater Kailash -1, New Delhi. From there he moved to Empire Estate on Mehrauli Gurgaon Road, Delhi. Nowadays, both S Block Greater Kailash -1 Residence and Empire Estate are rarely open to the public. Guru Ji also has an ashram in Mumbai.
Guruji temples are now present in various countries, including the United States. The largest US temples are located in Somerset and Edison, New Jersey.
teaching methodology
Guruji makes people focus on their sufferings by meditating on them. He did not advocate idolatry and did not prescribe any special rituals for his followers. Unlike many gurus, he does not give pravachanas (religious sermons) or offer elaborate rituals. Instead, he promotes practical teachings and encourages his followers to connect with him directly through meditation and prayer. Guruji emphasizes the healing power of prasada (religious offerings) and discourages wastage. Her devotees believe that langar prasad (communal food), chai prasad (tea offering) and jal prasad (water offering) prepared and served in front of her photograph continue to receive her blessings.
confrontations
A rape case against his nephew
According to the allegations, in 2021, Navdeep Singh, also known as Gaurav, the nephew of ‘Guruji’, sexually assaulted a woman named Asha. Asha claims that she met Gaurav for the first time in 2013 at a temple with his family and gradually began to attract more attention.
In March 2019, Gaurav reportedly called Asha to discuss a dream he saw about her and the future of the sect. He asked Asha to meet him on April 4, 2019 and sent his car to pick her up. Allegedly, Asha was taken to a farm near the temple, where Gaurav told her that Guruji had appeared in his dream and told her that Asha was destined to be his wife and bear a male child to continue Guruji’s legacy. Gaurav allegedly gave Asha a drugged religious offering that made her feel lifeless and dizzy. He then took her to another room and performed a ‘marriage’ ceremony by chanting shlokas in front of a ‘havan’ before allegedly raping her. Over the next few months, Gaurav took Asha to a farm or a nearby hotel where he promised that her divorce would be finalized soon. In September 2019, Asha’s husband asked her about her frequent visits outside the house and she revealed her relationship with Gaurav. Her husband demanded a divorce and when Gaurav heard that Asha had informed her husband, he started avoiding her and later threatened her. Asha went to the Vikaspur police station on September 5, 2020, after recovering from the alleged ordeal, to register a complaint. The final verdict has not yet been delivered.

However, his nephew Gaurav took over the responsibility of managing the sangat, including managing the funds, the ashram and the temple. The fiduciary argued that with only one old trustee alive, the trust was being mismanaged, which would lead to a dispute.
