Partha Chatterjee or Partha Chattopadhyay was born on Monday 6 October 1952 (70 years old; as of 2022) and he hails from Kolkata, West Bengal, India. His zodiac sign is Libra. After attending Ramakrishna Mission Vidyalaya, Narendrapur, he joined New Alipore Multipurpose School, Kolkata. Graduated with Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from Calcutta University (1982). He also did his BA (Hons.) in Economics from Asutosh College, Kolkata. He then pursued his Master of Business Administration (MBA) at the Indian Institute of Social Welfare and Business Management, Kolkata. In 2014, he received his PhD in Economics from the University of North Bengal. He has been writing his PhD thesis since 2009 on the transformation of the industrial economy to the knowledge economy with reference to human resource management. He obtained a degree in Personnel Management and Industrial Relations (PMIR) from the Industrial Society of London, UK, on ​​a British Council scholarship.
