Nand Kishore Yadav was born on Wednesday, 26 August 1953 (70 years; as of 2023) in Patna, Bihar, India. His zodiac sign is Virgo. He grew up in the Khajekalan area of Patna. In 1969, he passed matric (10th standard) at State Marwari High School, Patna City. He joined Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) in 1969. He was studying in the second year of his Bachelor of Science degree (B.Sc.) at the College of Commerce, Magadh University in 1974 when he dropped out of college and entered the JP Movement, started by Jayaprakash Narayan. He was jailed for around one year between 1974 and 1975. He became a politician after his release.

Party & Electoral Politics
In 1978, he became a ward councillor of Patna Municipal Corporation and later was appointed as district head of Janata Yuva Morcha. In 1982, he became the Deputy Mayor of Patna Municipal Corporation. In 1983, he became the head of the Patna unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). In 1995, he became a Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) for the first time from East Patna (renamed Patna Sahib) constituency. He won the Bihar Assembly elections in 2000, 2005, 2010, 2015, and 2020. In 2013, he became the leader of the opposition in Bihar Legislative Assembly.

Nand Kishore Yadav has served in many important positions in the Bihar cabinet under Nitish Kumar as Chief Minister (CM). In 2005, he became the Road Construction and Tourism Minister in Bihar.
