Mohit Suri is an Indian film director and producer, who is the son of Mahesh Bhatt’s youngest sister Heena Suri. He is known for directing the popular Hindi film ‘Aashiqui 2′ (2013).

His father, Daksh Suri, worked for a British multinational company Dunlop in Chennai and also worked as a computer salesman. His mother, Heena Suri, was an air hostess. His sister, Smiley Suri, is a model, actor, and dancer.
Wife & Children
On 29 January 2013, he got married to the Indian actress Udita Goswami. The two met for the first time on the sets of the Hindi film ‘Zeher’ (2003) with which Mohit debuted as a director and Udita made her debut as an actor. In the first meeting, they got attracted to each other. Soon, they became friends, and in 2005, they started dating each other. Later, they took a break from their relationship, but again they get back together. After dating for around eight years, the couple tied the knot at ISKCON Temple, Juhu, Mumbai.
In 2018, there were rumours that Udita had a doubt about Mohit Suri’s affair with a Bollywood actress. She allegedly derived his call records with the help of her advocate. Later, she was interrogated by Thane Police for illegally deriving the call records of Mohit and a few private detectives were also arrested in the case.
In January, the couple was blessed with a daughter named Devi. In 2019, they had a son named Karma.
His maternal uncle is the Indian film director Mahesh Bhatt. The Indian actors Alia Bhatt, Pooja Bhatt, and Emraan Hashmi are his cousins from his father’s side.
From 1995 to 2003, he dated a girl who was an RJ in Dubai.
He started his career as an assistant director in the Hindi films like ‘Kasoor’ (2001), ‘Awara Paagal Deewana’ (2002), and ‘Footpath’ (2003).
In 2005, he made his debut as a director and writer with the Hindi film ‘Zeher.’ Some of his other Hindi films as a director and writer are ‘Kalyug’ (2005), ‘Raaz: The Mystery Continues’ (2009), ‘Crook’ (2010), and ‘Ek Villain Returns’ (2022).
In 2017, he worked as a director and producer in the Hindi film ‘Half Girlfriend.’
In 2017, he appeared as a judge in the reality TV dance show ‘Nach Baliye season 8,’ which aired on Star Plus.
He has formed EMI Records India, a multinational record label.
Feud with Sidharth Bhardwaj
In 2014, the Indian VJ and actor Sidharth Bhardwaj accused Mohit of deceiving him. Bhardwaj said that Mohit had offered him a role in the Hindi film ‘Ek Villain,’ however, at the last moment Mohit changed the script and changed the cast. On the other side, when Mohit was asked about it, he said that Bhardwaj lied and behaved unprofessionally. In an interview, Bhardwaj said that he even talked about the incident to Salman Khan and Khan also agreed that Mohit did wrong with Bhardwaj.
Misbehaved with a Girl
In 2014, while the Indian film director Vishal Mahadkar was having an alcoholic drink with his assistant Leena Tandon, reportedly, Mohit walked towards Leena and asked her for a one night stand. She got very angry at his comment and threw beer on his face. The incident led to a physical fight between Vishal and Mohit.
Accused of Copying Film Poster
In 2011, he received criticism for copying the poster of the Hindi film ‘Murder 2’ from the Korean film ‘Anti Christ.’ However, when he was asked about the same, he said that there might be some similarities, and even the Korean film’s poster could be a copy of some other film.

- At the age of 16, he started working as an office boy for his uncle Mahesh Bhatt. He used to deliver cassettes of T-Series to his uncle’s office.
- In an interview, he shared that after his mother’s demise, his father would often bring his girlfriends to his home and used to drink alcohol and play cards at home. While he was in college, his father got remarried, and later, after divorcing his second wife, his father moved from Mumbai to Chennai.
