Kodi Ramakrishna was an Indian film director and screenwriter in South Indian (mainly Telugu) cinema. He was known for his films Arundhati (2009), Gudachari No.1 (1983), Murali Krishnudu (1988), Muddula Menalludu, Ankusham, etc.

Ramakrishna was born on July 23, 1955 (Age: 63 years old, at the time of his death) at Palakollu in West Godavari district, Andhra Pradesh. He received his education from Andhra University, Andhra Pradesh.

Family

The names of his relatives are unknown. He was married in his life and had a son and a daughter.

Career

In 1982, he made his Tollywood directorial debut with Intlo Ramayya Veedhilo Krishnayya. His career spanned almost 3 decades. During this period, he directed more than 100 films. Apart from being a director, Ramakrishna was also a successful screenwriter and actor. He starred in several movies like Mudilla Muchata (1985), Attagaaroo Swagatam (1986), Inti Donga (1987), Aasti Mooredu Aasha Baaredu (1995) and Dongaata (1997).

Awards

In 2012, he received the Raghupathi Venkaiah Award for his contribution to Telugu cinema. In addition, she received three Lifetime Achievement Awards, a Filmfare Award for Satruvu (1990), a Tollywood Film Award for Arundathi (2009) and many others.

Death

A few years ago, Ramakrishna had suffered a heart attack and paralysis attack, however, he soon made a full recovery thanks to proper medical treatment. On February 21, 2019, Ramakrishna felt unwell and complained of shortness of breath. He was hospitalized at AIG hospitals at Gachibowli in Hyderabad. He was undergoing treatment in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and remained connected to the ventilator (life support system). However, his health condition deteriorated and he finally passed away due to kidney failure on the afternoon of February 22, 2019.
