Military veteran Ray Epps has never been arrested. Following the attack on the Capitol on January 6, 2021, he was on the FBI’s Most Wanted list for about six months.

According to the lawsuit, Fox spread a “fantastic story” that Ray Epps was a federal agent to make him a “scapegoat” for the congressional raid, the BBC reported.
In January 2021, the camera captured Mr. Epps urging others to enter the Capitol complex. Although the FBI agents questioned him, he was not charged.
Damages are not specified in the action, which was filed on Wednesday (July 19, 2023) in a Delaware court.

Ray Epps and his wife had to close their
Mr. Epps’ attorney said he and his wife had to close their Arizona wedding venue and move to a small trailer home in Utah because of the intimidation and harassment they faced due to conspiracy theories.
Epps was with Trump supporters near the Capitol the night before and the day of the riot.

He was filmed telling people to enter the building. The crowd chanted: “Federados! Fed!” – Implying that he was a law enforcement officer.
Epps has denied any connections to law enforcement agencies and said he did not enter the Capitol during the riots.
He also admitted that he was influenced by his false belief that there was widespread fraud in the 2020 election and his support for Donald Trump.
