Later, he appeared in several Bollywood films such as Tee Maar Khan as a villager (2010), Jolly LLB as Vasu (2013), Jai Ho! Democracy as Santosh (2015) and Tamasha as Rajesh Autowala (2015). In 2017, Ishtiaq appeared in two films, Anaarkali as Aara opposite Hiraman Tiwari and Fukrey Returns as Tiday. In 2018, he appeared in the movie FryDay as Sunny. In 2019, she played the role of Chaurazia in the film Bharat, and in 2020, she appeared in the film Ludo as Sukumar Sinha on Netflix.

In an interview, when he was asked about playing the role of a father in the Bollywood film Janhit Mein Jaari, Ishtiaq revealed that he was initially unsure about the role, but later accepted the offer, saying;

I play Nushrat Bharucha’s father who owns a lingerie business. When I was offered this role, I thought it was a misunderstanding as to how I would look like his father, but then director Jai Basanthu and writer Raaj Shandilya explained to me the schedule of the character. Also the casting director Parag said that I am suitable for the role, so I started preparing for the same.

In February 2018, Ishtiaq Khan made his television debut in the show ‘Har Shaakh Pe Ullu Baithaa Hai’ in which he played the role of Putan on StarPlus. In 2022, he appeared in the show Hasi Ka Hahakaar on The Q.

Ishtyak acted in several plays for the theater group Anveshan Theater Group in Sagar, Madhya Pradesh. After graduating from the National School of Drama, he moved to Mumbai to pursue his dream of becoming an actor. In 1989, he joined a theater group, the Indian Public Theater Association (IPTA) in Juhu, Mumbai. Ishtiaq performed his first street play Gili Gili Fu directed by Devesh Mishra. His first stage show was Ek Tha Gadha Urf Aladad Khan directed by Satish Sharma.
