Bhasha Sumbli was born in Sumbal, Jammu and Kashmir, and grew up in a Kashmiri Pandit migrant camp in Delhi. During the interview, he shared his memories of living in the camp. She said,
When my parents were forced to leave Kashmir like the rest of the community, I was a child. We lived in a camp in Delhi. Life there was full of misery. There was a constant fight for bread and blankets. I remember once an old grandfather almost had to wrestle a young man for a blanket. It was very bad… this sadness stayed with us.”

Career
He started his career as a theater artist and acted in various theater productions including directing theater productions by famous Kashmiri folk theater artist Moti Lal Khemu.

At the age of 15, he wrote his first play. He then wrote many Hindi theater plays and some of them were published in national magazines. He has also worked as an acting mentor for various television reality shows such as ‘India’s Best Dramebaaz 2’ (2015) and ‘Sabse Bada Kalakar’ (2017).

He appeared in one season of the Doordarshan serial ‘Ek Tha Rusty’. In 2019, he starred in the Hindi television series Mere Dad Ki Dulhan, which aired on Sony Entertainment Television. She made her Bollywood debut with the Hindi film Chhapaak (2020), in which she played a cameo role. He also worked as a mentor in the IPL extravaganza talk show ‘Super Funday’ (2021) which aired on the Star network. In 2022, she appeared in the Hindi film Kashmir Files, playing the role of Sharda Pandit.

They often talked about this brutal massacre at home. When they were shooting the scene of cutting me with a saw, my health became very bad. I couldn’t see the difference between the ring and real life. My blood pressure dropped and I had trouble breathing. After the scene was over, I sat down in the corner. At the same time, another scene was being filmed where people were standing together. Vivek Sir brought down the Kashmiri Pandits there. When they are firing bullets, I started screaming right there and started saying don’t kill my people. I forgot that acting was happening. The production team came to me and calmed me down. Even Vivek sir came. At that time I was not breathing, I had a panic attack. I could not understand how my life would be saved. Then they took me back to the hotel. I stayed in the hotel room for three days and did not talk to anyone. However, after that I felt very embarrassed that even though I was the duty coach, how could I have such an accident. I couldn’t even make eye contact with the crew members.”
