Ankush Bhardwaj was born on Friday, 11 December 1992 (age 29 years; as of 2021) in Kotgarh, a small village in Kumarsain subdivision of Shimla district, Himachal Pradesh. He did his schooling at Hainault Public School, Shimla. Ankush studied Bachelor of Commerce from Rajiv Gandhi Government College, Shimla in 2014. After that he studied for Masters in Business Administration from Amity University, Noida. He completed his postgraduate studies in 2017. Ankush trained at The Channa Music Academy in Shimla. His mentor was Vinod Chana, an expert in classical, semi-classical and folk music.

Ankush Bhardwaj was diagnosed with an eye disease called keratoconus at the age of six. Keratoconus is a disease that causes sensitivity to light and blurred vision. He consulted several doctors in Shimla and went to Chandigarh for surgery. After his failed attempt at surgery in Chandigarh, he consulted Dr. Nitin Bedi, Ojas Eye Hospital, Bandra. Ankush underwent both C3R and Intech surgery at Ojas Hospital. After this operation, the doctors assured that the eyes have already recovered by 70 percent and soon the vision will be completely restored.
Career
In 2011, he participated in the Voice of Himalayas event and was one of the finalists. After that he became the first runner up of ‘Himachal ki Awaaz’. He performed at various music festivals in Shimla like Kishore Kumar Nights, Rafi Nights etc. Ankush won the singing competition Sangam Sur Sangeet Ka (Season 1) in 2013 and this competition was organized by Cedar Productions in Himachal Pradesh. Later, he became one of the top 10 contestants on Benadryl Big Golden Voice (Season 4). In this show, Amal Malik and Armaan Malik praised Ankush. He sang the song ‘Sab Badhiyaa Hai’ for the movie ‘Sui Dhaaga’. In 2019, he sang the title song ‘Ek Chup Tum, Ek Chup Main’ for the TV show ‘Isharon Isharon Mein’. This title track is available on SonyLIV streaming platform. After that, he also guested on two episodes of Indian Idol season 11.
