Career
A first class career
Virat Singh has been playing cricket since childhood. He broke into the Jharkhand Under-19 team at the age of 16 and played a first-class match in the Vinoo Mankad Trophy in 2014. He scored his maiden first-class century during a match against Kerala in December of the same year.
In his cricket career, he played matches for Jharkhand, East Zone, India U19, India U23 and India C.
IPL career
Due to his performances at home level, he was snapped up by Surisers Hyderabad for INR 1.90 crore while his base price was Rs 20 lakh and is all set to make his Indian Premier League debut in IPL 2020.

- When Virat was in fifth grade, his exam results were very poor; His father Vinod Singh angrily took the stick and locked it in the locker. After that, Virat’s coach V. Venkataram came to his house and spoke to his father. His coach said, “Your son has great talent, leave it to me.” Only two years after that, Virat started playing at the district level and performed well, hence he was selected in the Jharkhand U-16 team.
