  • Srikkanth was once asked about his superstitious nature. to which he replied,

“All of us, all people are superstitious. Every time I entered the land, I looked at the sun because I believe in the sun god. I come from an Orthodox family that is very religious. Maybe it’s parenting, but I have a habit of looking at the sun 3 times, swinging the bat, touching the pads and then squatting, spreading my legs, etc.

  • Many Indian cricketers have expressed their views on Srikanth. kapil dev said,

“Srikkant’s technique was unique. He was different from others. He was one batsman who could defend the ball and could blast the identical ball whenever he wanted to. He hit the bowlers all over the place. He had a huge eye. He was a great entertainer. His achievements were immense in both five-day and one-day cricket. I wasn’t impressed with his technique but I was certainly impressed with the way he could hammer the bowlers.

    Navjot Singh Sidhu said:

“You could never field Srikkanth in his day. His hits were magnetic, drawing crowds from around the world. His batting was such that even his opponents loved to watch him play. The most distinctive feature of Srikkanth’s batting was his desire to dominate the bowlers. When he hit, he either stopped attacking or went out. I have never seen a bat like him. He had his own character and style. No one can copy ‘Cheeka Bhai’

    Said Kirman told him

“A fun-loving person like Srikanth is a blessing for the side. He is the most tolerant person, a good teammate, a source of encouragement on the field. In the case of athletes, under pressure, the face spoke volumes. The most enviable quality about Srikanth was that he never showed that he was under tension. This trait helped Srikkanth, the cricketer, to achieve success.

    Sachin Tendulkar said:

“Srikkanth used to pull my legs in Pakistan and say, ‘Sachin, you are going to be the captain of India.’ Do not forget me”. It was in a lighter vein. Cheeka never maintained an official captain-player relationship. I got full encouragement from him. If any youngster could get that kind of encouragement, I myself was lucky enough to play under him. He never pressured me. He would say, “Just play your game. Play your natural game, you will get runs.” Srikkanth was a friendly guy and absolutely amazing. “
