Vikas Bahl was born on Tuesday, 7 December 1971 (age 52 years; as of 2023) in Lajpat Nagar, district south-east Delhi, New Delhi. His zodiac sign is Sagittarius. Vikas completed his schooling at the Sardar Patel Vidyalaya, New Delhi. He pursued graduation at the Ramjas College in New Delhi and later moved to Mumbai for his post-graduation. Vikas completed his Master of Business Administration at Shri Vile Parle Kelavani Mandal’s Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies in Mumbai.

Phantom Films
In 2011, Madhu Mantena, Anurag Kashyap, Vikas Bahl, and Vikramaditya Motwane founded a joint film production company called ‘Phantom Films.’ The company produced its first film, a Hindi period romantic drama film titled ‘Lootera’ in 2013. The company produced many Bollywood films including ‘Queen’ (2013), ‘Hasee Toh Phasee’ (2014), ‘Bombay Velvet’ (2015), and ‘Udta Punjab’ (2016). However, in 2018, the production company was dissolved by the owners due to the alleged me-too allegations against Vikas Bahl by a former Phantom employee.

Controversies
#MeToo Charges
In 2015, during the promotion of the movie “Bombay Velvet,” Vikas Bahl was accused of sexually assaulting a female member of the team. The woman said Bahl insisted on dropping her to her hotel room late in the night after the party of the film ended and pretended to pass out drunk on her bed. She alleges she was awakened soon after and found Bahl masturbating on her. This eventually led her to leave her job. She told her story to Anurag Kashyap, but it took two years before the matter was taken seriously.
Accusations made by Kangana Ranaut
After the initial #metoo charges against Vikas Bahl, actress Kangana Ranaut came in support of the victim and was quoted saying in an interview
I often told him off. He was scared of me but still every time we met, socially greeted and hugged each other, he’d bury his face in my neck and hold me really tight and breathe in the smell of my hair. It took me great amount of strength and effort to pull myself out of his embrace. He’d say, ‘I love how you smell K.’ I could tell something is wrong with him.”
