Shivin Ganesan was born in 1996 (age 26; as of 2022) in Devakottai, Karaikudi, Tamil Nadu. Assigned male since birth, Shivin was inclined towards dancing and acting since childhood. According to Shivin, after growing up, his feminine behavior became noticeable. A few years later, he revealed his gender orientation to his parents; However, as he was the only son in the family, his parents rejected him as transgender and isolated and physically abused him. In an interview, he talked about it and said:
I was locked in my room and my family would never let me out; The food was served through a small gap in the door. They didn’t even allow me to meet anyone in my house and they hit me several times.”

20-year-old Shivin was sent to Singapore by his parents. According to Shivin, she was sent to Singapore for sex reassignment surgery. In an interview, he talked about it and said:
My mother sent me to Singapore because she could not live in India. Why so many people left India and came to Singapore for sex donation”.

In an episode of the reality show Big Boss Tamil season 6, Shivin talked about his previous relationships. She said she dated a guy for two years while he was working as an IT professional in Chennai; However, her mother did not support her relationship and forced her to end it. According to Shivini, her mother did not want her to date the boy because Shivini was transgender. In an interview, Shivin talked about it and said:
In my native place, we used to go to temples and temple festivals together. Everyone in my village knew about our relationship and adored it. But my mother never liked it. He forced me to have a relationship with him and told me that the boy’s parents might curse me for having a relationship with him because I am a trans woman. After my mother forced me to break up, I finally did. Now he has settled in Singapore, but I heard from friends that he has some addiction. All I want is for him to stop them and be a good partner.”

In 2019, Shivin Ganesan started her modeling career by participating in small-scale pageants. In 2021, she won the Miss Trans Star India pageant. In 2022, she was going to represent India at Miss Trans Star International held in Spain; However, he was unable to attend the event after his visa was refused. In the same year, she won the title of Miss Equality World India 2022.
