Revathi is an Indian actress and director. He works in Tamil, Malayalam and Telugu films. Revat was one of the best actors of South Indian cinema. She was awarded the Filmfare Award for Best Actress for her performance in Mann Vasanai (1983), Thevar Magan (1992), Anjali (1990), Ankuram (1993) and Kakothi Kaavil Appoopan Thadigal (1988). Revath’s debut film is an Indian Tamil romantic drama titled Mann Vasanai in 1983. He also appeared in the Indian Malayalam language drama film Kattathe Kilikkoodu in 1983. Revathi was one of the leading actresses in South India from 1983 to 1986. This film was later dubbed into Malayalam as Thennal Thedunna Poovu. In 1993, she worked with her husband in the Tamil language thriller Pudhiya Mugam. Revathi’s upcoming movie is Major which is releasing in June 2022.
Revathi also portrayed the role of a blind man in the Indian Tamil language film Kai Kodukkum Kai.
In 2022, Revathi directed a Bollywood comedy-drama film starring actress Kajol. Kajol was excited to hear the story behind the film ‘The Last Hurrah’. he quoted,

Revath is a trained Bharatanatyam dancer and started learning dance at the age of seven. He made his stage debut as a former student of Indian classical dance and music in Chennai in 1979. Mother and Ranganayaki Jayaraman were his mentors. He also gave many performances on stage even as he was growing as an actor. Revathi had to give up her passion for dancing due to some reasons. After a gap of 15 years, Revathi performed a solo at the 80th anniversary of Sri Saraswathi Gana Nilayam. In an interview, when asked about dancing, Revath quoted,
Dancing has always been my passion. I started dancing at the age of seven; My Arangetram was in 1979… 40 years!
