Ramita Jindal was born on Friday, 16 January 2004 (age 19 years; as of 2023) in Ladwa, Haryana. Her zodiac sign is Capricorn. She did her schooling at Aggarsain Public School in Kurukshetra. In 2024, Ramita Jindal attained a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce at Hansraj College, University of Delhi. Her journey in sports shooting began at the age of 13 while studying in the 8th grade. She received training at the Karan Shooting Academy in Ladwa, Haryana, under coach Jagbir Singh. Later, she underwent professional training at the GFG (Gun for Glory) academy in Chennai.

Career

During her school days, Ramita Jindal achieved 2nd and 3rd place in district and state-level matches, earning her a spot in national competitions. She won a bronze medal in the CBSE National Championship held at SS International School, Kunjpura Road, Karnal in 2019. In the 2021-22 Junior World Championship held in Lima, Peru, Ramita won a bronze medal, and later, she earned one gold and two silver medals at the 2022 International Junior World Cup.

  • In an interview, she once revealed that Indian women shooters Elavenil Valarivan and Anjum Moudgil are her inspirations. She said,

    When I came to shooting I saw only Anjum di, Ela di. And after knowing them, I came to know about Abhinav sir. My whole family is not from a sports background.”

  • In 2023, the Government of India recognized Ramita’s potential and started supporting her through the Target Olympic Podium Scheme (TOPS). The scheme helps her with weapon servicing, inspection, and pellet testing at the Walther Factory in Germany.

    I worked with a psychologist — Gayatri Vartak. She helps me with all the techniques. I do all the breathing exercises and yoga in the morning. It helps me in keeping myself relaxed and calm.”
