Prashant Yadav is an Indian politician. He is a member of Pragatisheel Samajwadi Party Lohia (PSPL) and was elected as the state general secretary in 2019.

Prashant Yadav was born into a Yadav family in 1994 (age 27 years; as in 2021) in Etawah, Uttar Pradesh, India. He was educated at St. Mary’s Inter College, Etawah, St. Thomas Convent, Mainpur, Uttar Pradesh and City Montessori School, Lucknow. After that he did his BA from Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar University, Agra. He then pursued MA (English) from Dr. Bhimrao University, Agra. Later, he pursued B.Ed from Lucknow University.

His sister, Dr. Akanksha Yadav, is a jila panchayat adhyak from the district of Firozabad (UP). His son-in-law Mr. Vijay Pratap Singh alias Chhotu Bhaiya is MLA from Sirsaganj, Firozabad (UP)

Career
In 2010, he was elected General Secretary of Uttar Pradesh Backward Association. Later in 2011, he was elected as the District President, Samajwadi Party Student Wing, Mainpuri (UP). Under his leadership, the Samajwadi Party won all the four seats in the Mainpur district in the 2012 Vidhan Sabha elections and thereafter Mr. Akhilesh Yadav was elected as the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh. After that he became one of the favorite chief ministers. In the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, Mulayam Singh Yadav’s grandson Mr. Tej Pratap Yadav won from Mainpur constituency under his leadership. In 2017, despite a clean sweep by the BJP in the Vidhan Sabha elections, Prashant Yadav’s candidate managed to win out of 109 constituencies in Kishni, Mainpur (UP).
Later in 2017, Samajwadi Party cheated his brother after which he quit Samajwadi Party. He got many offers from BJP but he refused as he is a relative of Samajwadi Party founder Mr. Mulayam Singh Yadav. He joined Shivpal Singh Yadav’s PSPL (Pragati Sheel Samajwadi Party) in 2018.
