In the tragic car accident on southeast Powell Boulevard, a 2004 Lexus was involved with an adult female driver and adult passenger.
The Lexus was making a left turn from northbound 63rd Avenue southeast to westbound Powell Boulevard when it was struck by the driver’s side racing BMW.
The impact of the collision was severe, pushing the BMW into a raised median and causing damage to the surrounding area, including downing several trees.
Unfortunately, both occupants of the BMW, the driver and the passenger, both 18-year-old women, lost their lives at the scene of the accident.
The adult driver of the Lexus succumbed to her injuries later at the hospital.
However, the adult male passenger of the Lexus survived the collision but sustained significant, non-life-threatening injuries.
Until this time, the identities of the deceased have not been released publicly until their families have had an opportunity to notify their loved ones.
